Consultancy & Supervision

Here at NECP, we recognise it can be challenging to work with children and young people who present with mental health difficulties or neurodevelopmental issues.

Consultancy and supervision offer opportunities for professionals to discuss children and young people who may be causing concern or uncertainty, where there may be historic, unresolved questions or lack of clarity around diagnosis, where there is a need for a biopsychosocial formulation or a desire for a more comprehensive understanding of reasons behind a young person’s presentation.

Coming from a position of years of experience and expertise, Dr Gilder is able to organise consultation slots for other professionals where individual young people can be discussed.

Alternatively, rather than only arranging consultation slots on an ad hoc basis, an agency may feel it would be helpful to have a regular, scheduled supervision time arranged with Dr Gilder. She is happy to negotiate days/times and the structure of this supervision. At times it may be that just one or two professionals meet with Dr Gilder, at other times it may be a whole team want to meet.

Here at NECP, we are keen to support all professionals working with children and young people and we can be flexible about how that happens.

If you are interested in discussing this further then please do not hesitate to get in touch with us and we can discuss the structure of the support as well as costs.

It may be that after thinking together about a young person it is agreed that referrals are needed for specialist assessment / intervention. If there is a need for psychiatric assessment, Dr Gilder would discuss how a referral to NECP is made.
